About the Farm

Welcome to Bradley Farms

Located in the rolling hills outside of Jonesboro, Louisiana, we are raising Premier Registered Texas Longhorns. Bradley Farms is dedicated to the preservation of the Longhorn breed producing cattle with excellent temperament, correct conformation, and big horns.

Our Story

I'm a deepwater oil and gas operator in the Gulf of America by trade and a cattleman by choice. My beautiful wife works full-time in the staffing world, and we have two young daughters. In 2023, we purchased a home on 35 acres outside the rolling hills of Jonesboro, Louisiana.

It's a beautiful property rolling hills, wildlife, and natural springs running right through the middle of it but it's rugged. We couldn't let it grow up into a thicket, and we didn't have the time or resources to maintain it on our own. After some research and shopping, we purchased four young Longhorn heifers from Carving Creek Farm in Weatherford, Texas.

We chose Longhorns because they were a prettier option than black cows for yard art and we needed something that could take care of itself while I'm gone for weeks at a time. What better than a breed that kept itself alive and adapted to its environment for hundreds of years with no human interaction? As a bonus, they make excellent automatic bush hogs and a pretty good tax deduction too.

We had no idea what we were doing or what we had, but we loved the colors and horns and fell in love with them right away.

After those first four heifers, we went back and purchased our first bull Big Abe along with a sweet old yellow cow and a bred cow named Paloma from Holy Cow Ranch in Ben Wheeler, Texas. We still didn't have enough cattle to keep up with the grass, so we added a proven cow that originated from some of Carving Creek's best maternal lines, bred by Tuff Trash Chex, and a Tuff Trash Chex daughter bred by Warlock from Genesis 1 Farm along with two more heifers from Carving Creek.

Through rotational grazing and God's blessings, we have grown to 21 head and we're still growing. Areas that were once bare dirt are now lush green pasture. Years later, we are still in love with the breed and learning every day. It hasn't been easy, but we wouldn't trade it for anything.

We are raising two beautiful daughters to know God, to love people, and to have a good work ethic. Our girls love feeding the cows and honestly, the cows love them right back.

We have a small but well-rounded herd with a mix of all different horn shapes, twists, and sizes colors ranging from parker red and red roan to brindle and everything in between. You're sure to find something you like!

We strive to produce the complete cow with excellent conformation, natural maternal instincts, calm demeanor, and of course, long horns. We would love to show you around and connect you with your next favorite cow, steer, or bull.
