Why Longhorn Beef
Texas Longhorn beef is not your average beef. Decades of research back up what Longhorn breeders have known all along — this is the healthiest beef you can put on your table.
What the research says
Texas Longhorn beef is naturally leaner than all other breeds due to centuries of surviving without human intervention — their genetics produce a different fat profile than commercially bred cattle. Studies show that eating lean beef can help increase good cholesterol and reduce bad cholesterol, even in people with elevated levels.
Beef is also the best source of selenium in the food supply — a mineral that research suggests may reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers, and enhance the body's ability to fight infection.
One 3 oz. serving of beef provides as much zinc as nearly 12 cans of tuna — and as much Vitamin B12 as seven chicken breasts. Longhorn beef delivers all of that with significantly less fat and fewer calories than conventional beef.
